Alicia Hagerman
Alicia earned a BM in violin performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a MM from the University of Akron. She was a freelance musician for many years in Cleveland performing with the Akron Symphony Orchestra, Erie Philharmonic, and the Cleveland Chamber Symphony. She returned to Tucson near the end of 1999 and has been a violinist with the Tucson Symphony since 2000. Alicia performs regularly with other professional groups in Tucson as well such as the Grammy nominated True Concord V oices and Orchestra, and the Aracelli String Quartet.
Although performing is her first love, Alicia believes in the importance of music education and is an active music educator. She has spent many years as an Opening Minds through the Arts teaching artist for TUSD; and taught Music Together classes - an early childhood music program for babies, toddlers, and kindergarteners - through her center, Coyote Music Together. She currently is the sole orchestra director for the Tanque Verde School District, teaching orchestra to students from 5th to 12th grade.
When not involved with music, Alicia likes to spend time with her husband, their two children, and two cats.Â
